David Otunga

David Otunga is the quintessential renaissance man. He is the only Harvard-educated lawyer, movie star, professional wrestler, reality star, bodybuilder, and TV personality in the world. David grew up in Elgin, IL and attended Larkin High School. As a child, David was bullied for being chubby, having big glasses, and even for receiving high grades. David found his escape in athletics and fitness. At the age of eighteen David signed up for a membership at the Life Time Fitness in Algonquin, IL. It was here that he fell in love with working out and developed a great fitness plan for himself.

Following high school, David earned a B.S. degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After college, he managed a cognitive neuroscience laboratory at Columbia University. He then earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from Harvard Law School. Following Harvard, David worked as a lawyer at Chicago’s top law firm Sidley Austin LLP. During this time the world of entertainment came calling for David and he eagerly answered. He starred in VH1′s hit reality show, “I Love New York 2.” Then he began giving motivational speeches at high schools, colleges, and universities. Next, David chose to follow one of his childhood dreams and he became a top wrestling superstar with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Known for his astounding physique, David is a two-time tag-team champion and ranked sixth on WWE’s list of “The Greatest Physiques Of All Time.” In the spring of 2013 David made his big screen debut starring alongside Academy Award Winner Halle Berry in Sony Pictures’ hit thriller “The Call.” David has been featured on “Oprah’s Life Class” where he spoke about dreaming big and following your dreams, as well as appearing on “Oprah’s Next Chapter” alongside his fiancé, Academy Award Winner, Jennifer Hudson and their four-year-old son David Jr. David is a recurring contributor on CNN/HLN and he provided his legal analysis on high profile court cases such as the Jodi Arias, George Zimmerman (Trayvon Martin) and Michael Dunn (Jordan Davis), Oscar Pistorius “Blade Runner” trials. David travels the world visiting schools and corporations giving speeches that motivate and inspire change. He speaks to today’s youth from elementary school through post graduate. David speaks about everything from bullying, the importance of education, following your dreams, defying stereotypes, health and fitness. In February 2014, David gave the keynote speech at his alma mater, Harvard Law School’s Sports and Entertainment Symposium.

David is very active in bodybuilding/fitness. He is a perennial guest host of the premier events in bodybuilding/fitness, including the “Mr. Olympia” weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada as well as at the “Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic” in Columbus, Ohio. David is a regular contributor to bodybuilding.com, the #1 fitness website in the world. He spends a great deal of time training and educating teenagers and adults on weight training and nutrition. David is featured on the December 2013 cover of “Muscle & Fitness,” which is the most prominent magazine in the fitness/entertainment industry.

David continues to boldly expand his dreams and courageously follow them.
